Position Overview
The Vice President of PBM Sales will lead the strategic vision and execution of all PBM-related sales initiatives, driving growth, market share, and revenue for PharmaForce’s PBM business. This sales role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with health systems, hospitals, and self-insured employers, while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers.
The ideal candidate will bring deep PBM industry expertise, an extensive professional network, and a proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar revenue growth. This role demands exceptional sales leadership, the ability to influence C-level stakeholders, and a collaborative approach to aligning sales strategies with product and operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute a national sales strategy to expand PBM market share, aligning with corporate goals and revenue targets.
- Business Development: Drive new business by identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities within health systems, hospitals, and self-insured employers. Build relationships and work with Consultants and Brokers in the PBM market to uncover new sales opportunities.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain executive-level relationships, presenting PharmaForce’s PBM solutions as flexible, transparent, and cost-effective alternatives to traditional PBMs.
- Product Positioning: Effectively communicate the value of PharmaForce’s PBM capabilities, including 340B integration, formulary customization, rebate optimization, and clinical program support.
- Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive activity and market trends to inform sales strategy and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure sales strategies align with service capabilities and deliver client satisfaction.
- Performance Tracking: Set KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and regularly report progress to executive leadership.
- Industry Presence: Represent PharmaForce at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to promote brand visibility.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in PBM or healthcare benefit sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales targets.
- Deep understanding of PBM operations, formulary management, rebate contracting, and pharmacy network strategies.
- Familiarity with 340B programs and their impact on cost reduction for clients.
- Established network of senior decision-makers in health systems, hospitals, and employer groups.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence C-level executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Available to travel and attend trade shows, industry events and company meetings as needed.
Preferred
- Experience in a C-level or VP-level sales leadership role within PBM or healthcare services.
- Master’s degree (MBA or related discipline).
- Experience with integrating PBM and 340B services into a single value proposition.
